resolution options. | Personal: Hope Vestergaard was born in New Orleans and spent most of her growing-up years in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She now lives on a small farm with her husband, two young sons, and an assortment of animals.
Education: Hope graduated magna cum laude from Smith College with a degree in psychology and geology.
Work experience: Hope was an early childhood teacher for almost ten years and a center director for two before she began working as a freelance curriculum consultant. Her current projects involve teacher training, parent workshops, and writing developmental brochures and articles. Hope is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the International Reading Association, and the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.
Books: Hope is the author of eight picture books for young children and Weaving the Literacy Web: Creating Curriculum Based on Books Children Love, published by Redleaf Press. She's had several articles published in Writer's Digest's Children's Writer's and Illustrator's Market.
Events: Hope is a frequent presenter at NAEYC- and IRA-affiliate conferences. She presents author talks and writer's workshops for school-age children, does story hours for preschools, libraries, and bookstores, and conducts teacher workshops for early childhood and literacy organizations.
